The Tunisie Challenge 2026 comes packed with new features. In addition to the creation of the Lite C category, the sixth edition, taking place from 7 to 16 October, will start in Djerba and finish in Mos Espa.<\/h2>\n

For the second consecutive year, the city of Tunis<\/strong> will host the administrative and technical scrutineering, while the main novelty of this edition lies in the starting point of the first stage. In a historic change, the island of Djerba<\/strong> will open the rally for the first time, having traditionally been the final destination since the first edition.<\/p>\n

After scrutineering in the capital, participants will complete a motorway liaison to Djerba, where the first stage will begin, linking Djerba to the Camp Zmela bivouac<\/strong>. This will take the rally straight into the desert from day one, setting the tone for an edition in which sand and dunes will play a leading role.<\/p>\n

The second stage, between Camp Zmela and Matmata<\/strong>, will have a marathon format and will be one of the longest of the rally. The route will head deep into the desert, reaching one of the southernmost areas ever visited by the event, travelling south close to the Borma<\/strong> region before returning north to finish in Matmata<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The central part of the rally will be defined by two consecutive days of dunes in the Grand Erg Oriental<\/strong>. The third stage will link Matmata to Douz<\/strong> via Ksar Ghilane<\/strong>, making the most of the variety of terrain, while the fourth stage will be run as a loop around Douz<\/strong>, with sand and dunes as the absolute protagonists.<\/p>\n

The fifth stage will connect Douz and Tozeur<\/strong>, combining dunes with the spectacular crossing of the salt lake Chott el-J\u00e9rid<\/strong>. The rally will conclude with a brand-new sixth stage between Tozeur and Mos Espa<\/strong>, the iconic Star Wars<\/em> film location. This waypoint navigation stage will bring the event to a close and lead into the traditional prize-giving ceremony.<\/p>\n
