We have completed the reconnaissance for the sixth edition of the Tunisie Challenge, which will take place from 7 to 16 October, discovering landscapes of great beauty and crossing some of the most remote and inhospitable areas of the country, close to the borders with Libya and Algeria. Adventure is guaranteed.<\/h2>\n

On the ground, we have checked the different routes we had prepared, featuring highly varied tracks but with a clear dominance of sand. Under scorching heat, with temperatures exceeding 40\u00baC, we experienced intense and highly demanding days to ensure a unique experience. The dune chains and the extremely soft sand turned some days into particularly tough and exhausting stages.<\/p>\n

The city of Tunis will host, for the second consecutive year and as we announced a few months ago, the administrative and technical scrutineering. One of the major new features will be that the first stage starts on the island of Djerba, a place that in previous editions had served as the rally finish. The Tunisie Challenge, travelling from the sea to the dunes, will enter the desert from the very first day, defining the character of an edition in which sand will play a leading role.<\/p>\n

The route will reach one of the southernmost areas of the country, heading south towards the region of Borma. At the end of the first stage, the bivouac will be set up at Zmela Camp. The core of the rally will consist of two consecutive dune stages in the Grand Erg Oriental, with stage finishes in Douz on the third and fourth days.<\/p>\n

The event will conclude with a brand-new sixth stage finishing in Mos Espa, the famous Star Wars filming location near Tozeur. It will be a waypoint navigation stage that will bring the event to a close before the prize-giving ceremony.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
