A host of new features await us for the sixth edition of the Tunisie Challenge. The event, which will take place from 7 to 16 October, will start in Djerba and finish in Mos Espa, the iconic cinematic setting from Star Wars.

This edition of the Tunisie Challenge will feature 74 competing teams, with Italy providing the largest representation, with 29 teams taking part. This figure highlights the importance of the event in Italy. A total of thirteen countries will be represented in this sixth edition, with Spain (10 teams) and France (7) following Italy in terms of entries. It is also worth highlighting the growing participation from Central European countries.

For the second consecutive year, the city of Tunis will host the administrative and technical scrutineering on Friday 9 October. The start of the first stage will take place the following day, after a motorway liaison, on the island of Djerba, a location which, since the first edition, had traditionally marked the finish of the event.

The first day will link Djerba with the Camp Zmela bivouac, taking the convoy into the desert from the very first day and underlining the defining character of an edition in which sand and dunes will take centre stage.

The second stage, between Camp Zmela and Matmata, will be a marathon stage and one of the longest of the rally. Competitors will venture deep into the desert, reaching one of the most southerly areas ever covered by the event. The route will head south towards the Borma region before turning north towards the finish in Matmata.

The heart of the event will be marked by three consecutive days of dunes in the Grand Erg Oriental. The third stage will link Matmata with Douz via Ksar Ghilane, while the fourth stage will be a loop around the Douz area.

The fifth stage will connect Douz with Tozeur, combining dunes with the spectacular crossing of the salt lake Chott el-Jérid. The sixth edition of the Tunisie Challenge will conclude with an entirely new sixth stage between Tozeur and Mos Espa. This waypoint-navigation stage will bring the event to a close before the always-emotional prize-giving ceremony, which this time will be held among the dunes.

Through our social media channels and website, we will keep you regularly informed of all the latest news and developments surrounding this spectacular 2026 edition of the Tunisie Challenge.
